A Visit from Pudsey !
Pudsey came to visit us for Children in Need. It was so exciting! We decided to all come to school in our brightest clothes! We made an enormous Pudsey and decided we would all bring coins to surround him. Sebby drew our giant Pudsey and Abigail helped him. Lots of people used oil pastels to colour him in. We also made bunting, pictures and a welcome banner for Pudsey.
It was wonderful when Pudsey arrived and he really liked our giant picture of him!
We compared ourselves to Pudsey, asked him questions and had our photos taken with him in our buddy groups. It was so much fun!
Then children in Year Reception and 1 sorted all the coins into pots. There were so many! We had pots of 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p and 50ps. We handed them to the children in Year 2, 3 and 4, who are busy counting them to find the grand total! This is fantastic purposeful maths learning. Learning always works best when you have a relevant reason for doing it.
