Welcome and Our School Vision

Welcome to Armathwaite School website. We hope you find it interesting and enjoyable.

Armathwaite is a small village primary school serving the lovely communities of Armathwaite and Ainstable in the beautiful Eden valley. We are delighted to offer provision for children aged 3-11 years. Currently we have 68 pupils organised into 3 classes:

We have a purpose built Early Years unit with rich and exciting indoor and outdoor learning environments for our Nursery, Year Reception and Year 1 children. We also have a Year 2, 3 class and Year 4, 5 and 6. We have 5 teachers and 3 teaching assistants on our staff team.

We are a friendly, caring school where each child is valued and important, a place where school, children, parents and members of the community work in partnership and learn together. At Armathwaite, we believe that involving parents and the community in their children’s learning is not something that merely produces social benefits, there is strong evidence that this can really make a difference. We know that working together makes Armathwaite a genuine community school in which our children and everyone involved is able to thrive.

Armathwaite School offers the best of worlds ~ a caring family atmosphere and high standards of education. As a small school we have a strong team of specialist teachers dedicated to giving children the best possible learning experiences. We work together as a team to create a rich and stimulating learning environment full of learning opportunities.
