We have had another fantastic half term and although it has only been short, we have been very busy! The children enjoyed their Media workshop day, meeting Jess Clarke (a professional footballer) and their Street Dance sessions with Kelly. The rugby team represented the school fantastically in the festival at Frenchfields and we are super proud of all the Year 6 children for sitting their SATs and having such a positive learning attitude.
End of year reports
Children will receive their end of year reports in the final two weeks of term. These will include any outcomes of external assessments. There will be opportunities for you to meet with teachers if you would like to discuss your child's end of report further. Details will follow nearer the time.
Global Goals
Thank you to everyone who donated to the foodbank last half term. Some of the children have taken our donations to the Salvation Army in Penrith. We are hoping to donate termly so our boxes for donations will back out next half term for anyone that would like to donate.
Swimming
We will be starting our swimming sessions at Lazonby Outdoor Pool next half term. We have adapted the organisation of the swimming days so that children have longer sessions in the pool and maximise their learning back in school. The children will travel via mini bus to the pool and Miss Price will deliver group swimming sessions. The children will be grouped broadly by their swimming ability and these groups may differ slightly week to week. We know the children enjoy travelling by train to the pool so we are planning a whole school outing on the train to Lazonby for the day for our final swimming session.
Please make sure children have their swimming kit :
- Swimming costume/trunks/wetsuit
- Towel
- Well-fitted goggles
- Haire bobble/hair tied up (if appropriate)
- Suitable bag to carry swimming kit in
- Warm clothes to put on after
