It has been another great half term across school, with a fantastic whole-school Outdoor Learning Day and lots of sporting activities, including gymnastics and hockey. We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils for approaching their SATs with such positivity and determination. We have also continued to make good progress towards the Global Goals we set in the Autumn term.

We will be completing our in school termly assessments as usual which will be used to inform our judgements and be shared in the children's end of year reports.

Year 4: Children will be completing their statutory Times Table check during the week beginning 8th June

Year 1: Children will be completing their statutory Phonics Screening Check during the week beginning 8th June

All statutory assessment results will be shared in the children's end of year reports

School Fundraising

We would like to say a huge well done to our amazing parent Rosie for completing the London Marathon and raising an incredible £2,042 for our school.

Your dedication, determination, and support mean so much to our whole school community. Thank you for going the extra mile for our children — we are incredibly proud of your achievement and truly grateful for your generosity. 👏🏅

Swimming

Swimming dates are listed below. Children will travel to their lessons by minibus for the first 3 sessions. Please ensure your child brings a named swimming kit, towel and goggles. On swimming days, If your child has a wetsuit and would like to wear it in the pool, please send it in with them, particularly for younger children. We will send a text message to families in the first swimming group so children can come to school wearing their swimming kit underneath their clothes.

On swimming days, the school meal option will be a packed lunch. Children may either bring their own packed lunch from home or order one from school via schoolhub.

Staffing

As you know, Mrs Olsen and Miss Armstrong will both be starting their maternity leave next half term. We are pleased to welcome Mrs Connell to the school office and Mrs Barnes, who will be working across school. During this transition, there may be times throughout the week when the office is unmanned, so please email where possible and we will respond as soon as we can.

We will have a works experience student in school w/c 13th July.

Reminders

As the weather gets warmer, please apply sun cream before school and send children with a named bottle for top-ups during the day. Children should also bring a sun hat each day.

Even in warm weather, please ensure children have a change of clothes with long sleeves and full-length bottoms for outdoor learning, as this may take place at any point during the week. To help keep everyone safe and comfortable outdoors, we kindly ask that children avoid wearing crop tops and instead wear clothing that keeps shoulders and tummies covered. Please also ensure children wear closed-toe shoes each day.

Please also remain vigilant at this time of year and check for ticks after outdoor activities.

Please can you make sure your child has the appropriate PE kit - white top, shorts, long trousers, zipped top and outdoor PE trainers (not their outdoor shoes).

For the safety of all pupils and families, please ensure children use the designated walkway and do not run across the car park before or after school.

Online Safety

Over the next half term, we will continue to raise the profile of online safety and support children in learning how to stay safe online. There are some helpful resources on the link below that you may find useful when discussing online safety with your child at home.
